Show Judge - Robyn O'Neil - Artist


Robyn O’Neil [Omaha, Nebraska, 1977] lives and works in Los Angeles, California. Her work was included in the prestigious 2004 Whitney Biennial. O’Neil has been the featured artist in several solo museum exhibitions including a show of her most important works to date at The Des Moines Art Center in 2010, and a solo museum exhibition at the Contemporary Arts Museum in Houston, Texas, which traveled to the Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art, Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, and the Frye Art Museum, Seattle, Washington. Her work was also included in the highly anticipated exhibition "Dargerism" at The American Folk Art Museum, featuring Henry Darger's influence on contemporary art.

O'Neil has been included in numerous acclaimed group exhibitions throughout the US and internationally. Some of the venues in which she has exhibited include the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, American University Museum in Washington, DC, and The Museum of Contemporary Art in Tampa, Florida. Gallery shows O'Neil has participated in have included such cities as Amsterdam, Berlin, London, Paris, Copenhagen, Shanghai, NYC, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, and Seattle, to name a few.
She is the recipient of numerous grants and awards, including a Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant in 2008 and the Hunting Prize in 2009. Her work is represented by Talley Dunn in Dallas, Susan Inglett Gallery in New York City, and Western Exhibitions in Chicago. She also received a grant from the Irish Film Board to make an animated short conceived of at Werner Herzog's Rogue Film School. The film, WE, THE MASSES, won several awards at film festivals throughout the country. She also hosts one of the highest rated iTunes poetry & literature podcasts “ME READING STUFF.”
